HAND SCRAPED BIRCH

These hand scraped floors are easy to maintain, highly durable, and absolutely stunning to the eye.  Other hardwood flooring companies strive to make their floors match the quality of the Hand Crafted Series, but in the end, fail to measure up to our demanding standards, and critical attention to detail.

Yellow Birch
In its heartwood, Birch combines the reddish brown tones characteristic of Cherry with lighter almond tones in the outer edges of the boards. It has a faint, swirly grain that offers subtle variations throughout. Birch has been a staple floor in homes for many years and provides a tough, hardwearing surface that is overall lighter in color.

Finish Specifications

  • 100% Solids Polyurethane
  • Imported From Germany
  • 7 Coat System
    • Top 2 Coats feature an oil-based UV cured finish.  Currently, there is no one else in the industry that offers a hand scraped floor with this type of finish.
    • The 3rd coat contains a Porcelain Powder.  This offers the same durability as Aluminum Oxide, but with more clarity.
  • Refinishing/Recoating
    • Refinishing: With a hand scraped floor, there is no way to sand it down to the wood without taking away the textures.
    • Recoating: Our finish is compatible with any water-based finish in the market.  A professional would only need to hand screen the surface (I can personally screen 800 Sq/Ft per hour by hand) and can easily coat the floor with standard application methods.  However this should not be necessary for a long, long time unless there is extensive damage or wear & tear.
