CARE
& MAINTENANCE:
Pioneered
Wood flooring is manufactured to the highest standards and factory
finished for long life and easy care. We apply solvent-free
finish and UV-cure in a controlled environment. The top coat
of our smooth products contains aluminum oxide micro-particles
for superior resistance to abrasion, scratching or dulling.
The resilient, flexible coatings are imperious to conventional
household stain and solvents, with twice the abrasion resistance
of other coatings.

Care
instructions for prefinished flooring
With
Pioneered Wood’s premium factory-applied finish, cleaning your
wood floors has never been easier. Routine cleaning is as easy
as sweeping with a soft bristle broom or vacuuming with a soft
brush attachment. Use a no-wax floor cleaner on a damp cloth
or sponge mop for periodic care.
-
Do
not wet mop a Pioneered Wood floor with water or a product
like oil soap or abrasive cleaners. Water may dull the
surface and damage the wood fiber. Do not use self-polishing
acrylic waxes, they cause floors to become slippery and
appear dull quickly.
-
Put
doormats outside and throw rugs inside entrances to keep
dirt and moisture from being tracked in. Avoid rubber,
foam or plastic mats as they may discolor the floor. Place
an area rug in front of the kitchen sink to minimize water
splashing. Wipe up spills immediately.
-
Put
felt-faced floor protector glides under the legs of furniture
or use rubber barrel-type casters to prevent scuffing and
scratching.
-
Cleats,
sports shoes or high heels will damage any floor surface.
High heels have a concentrated impact of over 2,000 pounds
per square inch.
-
When
moving heavy furniture, do not slide it on wood flooring.
Pick up the furniture completely or protect flooring with
hardboard or plywood when installing heavy appliances or
furniture.
-
Especially
in winter, a humidifier is recommended to prevent excessive
shrinking of wood fibers. Wood stoves and electric heat
tend to cause very dry conditions. A humidity level of
45 to 55% is recommended. In damp conditions, a dehumidifier
or air conditioning can maintain proper humidity.
